Geographic Range: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
Diet: Carnivorous; primarily feeds on small fish and invertebrates.
Average Adult Size: 6-8 inches
Preferred Water Parameters: pH 8.0-9.0, Temperature 75-82°F
Minimum Tank Size: 55 gallons
Acceptable Tank Mates: Other Tanganyikan cichlids and similarly sized fish. They can be territorial and aggressive, so provide plenty of hiding spots and rock structures to create distinct territories. Avoid keeping with overly aggressive or much smaller species.
