Description

Cincelichthys bocourti

Origin: Endemic to freshwater habitats in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Geographic Range: Found in rivers and lakes in Central America.

Diet: Omnivore; In the wild, they feed on a variety of small invertebrates, insects, and plant matter. In captivity, provide a balanced diet with high-quality pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and small invertebrates.

Average Adult Size: Can grow up to 8-10 inches (20-25 cm).

Sexual Dimorphism: Limited sexual dimorphism. Males may develop slightly more extended dorsal and anal fins.

Minimum Tank Size: A tank of at least 75 gallons is recommended for adult Cincelichthys bocourti.

Temperament: Generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially during breeding. Keep them with tankmates of similar size and temperament.
