Cyathopharynx foai

Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa

Geographic Range: Rocky shorelines and deep waters of Lake Tanganyika.

Diet: Carnivore; Primarily feeds on small invertebrates and plankton in the wild. Provide a varied diet including high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and small crustaceans.

Average Adult Size: Around 6-8 inches (15-20 cm)

Sexual Dimorphism: Males are larger, more colorful, and have extended finnage.

Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallons or larger for a community of Cyathopharynx foai.

Temperament: Generally peaceful for a Lake Tanganyika cichlid. Best kept in a species-specific tank or with other non-aggressive Tanganyikan cichlids. May exhibit territorial behavior, especially during breeding.
