Diet: Carnivorous; primarily feeds on small invertebrates and zooplankton.
Average Adult Size: 3-4 inches
Preferred Water Parameters: pH 8.0-9.0, Temperature 75-80°F
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
Acceptable Tank Mates: Peaceful to moderately aggressive Tanganyikan cichlids. Provide plenty of rocks and caves for hiding and establishing territories. Avoid keeping with much larger or overly aggressive species. Ensure the tank has a sandy substrate and ample hiding places to mimic their natural habitat.
