Geographic Range: Native to South America, specifically the Amazon River basin.
Diet: Omnivorous; prefers a varied diet including flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia.
Average Adult Size: 6 inches (15 centimeters)
Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons for a small group; larger tanks are preferable for a community setup.
Temperament: Generally peaceful, but can be territorial during breeding or if crowded. Best kept in a species tank or with other peaceful community fish.
