Geographic Range: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
Diet: Omnivorous; primarily feeds on small invertebrates and organic detritus.
Average Adult Size: 4-5 inches
Preferred Water Parameters: pH 8.0-9.0, Temperature 75-82°F
Minimum Tank Size: 40 gallons
Acceptable Tank Mates: Peaceful Tanganyikan cichlids and other non-aggressive species. They thrive in groups, so it’s recommended to keep a small school. Provide a sandy substrate and plenty of open swimming space. Avoid keeping with overly aggressive species.
